BP Settles Refinery Blast Suits Before Trial's End

Law360, New York (September 18, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The first civil trial stemming from a deadly explosion at BP PLC's Texas City refinery has drawn to an early close with a settlement for the four plaintiffs.

A spokesperson for BP PLC and an attorney for the plaintiffs confirmed Tuesday that the parties had struck a deal. The terms of the settlement remain undisclosed, however.
