ITA To Discipline Attys Who Commit Fraud In Duties Probes

Law360, New York (June 25, 2012, 5:23 PM EDT) -- The U.S. International Trade Administration will take disciplinary measures, including suspension and disbarment, against attorneys and others who engage in misconduct during anti-dumping and countervailing duty investigations, according to a Federal Register notice to be published Tuesday.

Under the ITA’s proposed rule, attorneys and others who appear before the regulator’s Import Administration will be subject to disciplinary action if they are caught participating in misconduct or issuing fraudulent statements during the course of an investigation.
