Apple To Pay $60M To End IPad Trademark Row In China

Law360, New York (July 2, 2012, 6:46 PM EDT) -- Apple Inc. has agreed to fork over $60 million to settle a dispute with a Chinese company that said it owned the rights to the iPad trademark in China, a provincial court in that country said Monday.

The settlement, to which the parties agreed in mediation last week, would transfer rights for the iPad mark to Apple from Proview Technology (Shenzhen) Co. Ltd., according to a statement released by the Higher People's Court of Guangdong Province.
