Seoul Tackles LED Suit’s Willfulness Claims

Law360 (September 21, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- After a judge rejected some counterclaims of invalidity and non-infringement in Nichia Corp.’s light-emitting diode patent suit against it, Seoul Semiconductor Inc. filed papers Friday to bolster its bid for summary judgment on the suit’s willful infringement claims.

In asking Friday for northern California district judge Maxine Chesney for summary judgment on Nichia’s willfulness claims, Seoul effectively downgraded its own hopes for the case—and asked Chesney to downgrade Nichia’s as well.
