EPA Settles Sierra Club Suit Over Texas Air Quality Plans

Law360, New York (July 5, 2012, 8:12 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency on Tuesday opened for comment a proposed timetable for its review of Texas' plans for monitoring and mitigating ground-level pollutants, a framework meant to resolve a Sierra Club suit alleging the EPA shortchanged its Clean Air Act-mandated responsibilities.

Comments on the timetable, which stipulates that the EPA offer a proposed ruling on each of roughly two dozen ozone mitigation plans by either February 2013 or August 2013, will be welcomed through Aug. 2, according to the federal government.
