Allergan Defeats Calif. Doctor's $4M Fraud Suit

Law360, Los Angeles (July 6, 2012, 3:31 PM EDT) -- A California state judge on Friday tossed a $4 million lawsuit alleging Allergan USA Inc. knowingly sold the prescription facial cream Prevage to a beauty products retailer using a physician's forged medical license, saying the physician couldn't show he was harmed by the alleged transactions.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Holly E. Kendig said Dr. Maurice Levy lacked standing to sue Allergan because he is unable to show that the company's sale of Prevage to Woodland Hills-based MMP Solutions Inc., which allegedly obtained the prescription medication...
