Obama Signs Law Granting $120B In Highway Funding

Law360, New York (July 6, 2012, 7:37 PM EDT) -- Flanked by construction workers at a White House ceremony Friday, President Barack Obama signed into law a sweeping $120 billion transportation bill that will fund highway, bridge and public transportation initiatives and support job growth in related sectors for the next 27 months.

The signing of HR 4348 — dubbed the Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century Act, or MAP-21 — puts an end to months of squabbling on Capitol Hill over which projects to fund and how much government spending could be justified...
