California Court Deals Setback To Sanofi In Lovenox Patent Trial

Law360 (June 17, 2005, 12:00 AM EDT) -- In a setback for French drug maker Sanofi-Aventis SA, a California federal court has granted a motion for summary judgment for inequitable conduct in a patent dispute with generics makers Amphastar and Teva Pharmaceuticals USA over the anti-thrombotic medication Lovenox.

A formal entry of the ruling as a final judgment of the court would result in the lifting of the 30-month stay on U.S. Food and Drug Administration approval which has been in place since the initiation of this patent infringement suit, Sanofi said.
