Chevron's Opposing Counsel Sanctioned In Enviro Suit

Law360, New York (July 10, 2012, 8:33 PM EDT) -- An Ohio federal judge on Monday awarded $250,000 in sanctions to Chevron USA Inc. against attorneys from Lundy Lundy Soileau & South LLP and Brent Coon & Associates representing plaintiffs in a suit over contamination and illnesses allegedly caused by the oil giant's Ohio refinery.

U.S. District Judge Sandra S. Beckwith, who had ruled earlier this year that the two firms and their five attorneys should be sanctioned for pursuing medical monitoring claims despite the lack of supporting evidence, found that $250,000 was the appropriate amount...
