High Court Will Hear EEOC Charges Against Ky.

Law360, New York (September 25, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday agreed to weigh in on the Equal Employment Opportunities Commission's charges that Kentucky's pension benefits scheme discriminates based on age.

By granting certiorari to Kentucky and Kentucky Retirement Systems, which oversees the pension plans for state and local government employees, the High Court agreed to review the EEOC's claims that the state's pension policy illegally prohibits workers who have become eligible for retirement benefits from also receiving disability retirement funds.
