EU Testing New Proposal To Solve Reuters Antitrust Issue

Law360, New York (July 12, 2012, 1:48 PM EDT) -- The European Union’s antitrust regulator said Thursday it is market-testing a revised proposal from Thomson Reuters Corp. designed to assuage concerns that its Reuters Instrument Codes, which track financial instruments in real time, may be violating EU antitrust laws.

The European Commission is concerned that by restricting the usage of its RICs, Reuters is limiting the ability of its customers to switch to competing data providers.
