Hedge Fund Group To Examine Investor Protection

Law360 (September 26, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Treasury Department said Tuesday that a pair of advisory committees would soon develop a set of “best practices” for the $1.2 trillion hedge fund industry.

The committees were assembled by the President’s Working Group on Financial Markets, an interagency panel. One committee will comprise investors and be led by Russell Read, the chief investment officer of the California Public Employees Retirement System, while the other committee will comprise asset managers and be led by Eric Mindich, the CEO of Eton Park Capital Management....
