European Union Calls For Globalization Of Nanotech Patent Processing

Law360, New York (June 18, 2005, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The European Commission has unveiled a plan calling for global harmonization of nanotechnology patent processes as part of an effort to keep Europe at the forefront of the emerging technology.

In its recently published action plan, the Commission proposes harmonizing the patent application processes of the European Patent Office, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and Japan in relation to nanotechnologies and nanosciences.
