Rival Slams Future Ticketmaster Co. With Patent Suit

Law360 (September 26, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Two months after Flash Seats LLC sued Ticketmaster LLC for allegedly suppressing competition in the secondary-ticketing service market, Flash Seats accused rival Paciolan Inc., which Ticketmaster plans to purchase, of infringing its secondary-ticketing service patent.

The Cleveland-based ticketing services and software provider filed suit Monday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware, bringing one count of patent infringement against Irvine, Calif.-based Paciolan.

Paciolan's Ticket Marketplace service infringes on Flash Seats's patent entitled “Electronic Ticketing System and Method,” the suit charged.
