Canadian Pension Fund Buys $326M Stake In Helly Hansen

Law360, New York (July 13, 2012, 3:44 PM EDT) -- The Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan, one of Canada's major pension funds, will lift a 75 percent interest in Norwegian outdoor outfitter Helly Hansen Group AS from Scandinavian private equity firm Altor Equity Partners AB, OTPP said Friday.

After the deal, Altor will hang onto the remaining share of the company, which designs and markets men's and women's clothing. The parties did not name a sale price, but the Financial Times, citing "sources close to the deal," pegged it at $326 million — roughly quadruple Altor's initial...
