Ex-Avaya Employee Says He Was Fired For Whistleblowing
By Keith Goldberg (July 16, 2012, 3:11 PM EDT) -- A former employee of Avaya Inc.'s government contracting unit sued the company in Virginia federal court on Thursday, claiming he was fired in retaliation for revealing allegedly fraudulent reports Avaya sent to federal agencies it contracted with, a potential violation of the False Claims Act.
William Holowecki, who worked as an information systems security manager for Avaya Government Solutions, claims his position was eliminated in December in retaliation for discovering and reporting false reports made by the company to a government customer over unauthorized access to restricted areas of Avaya's facility in Fairfax, Va.
