Trustee, Creditors Spar Over MILA Advisors

Law360, New York (September 27, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The recommendation of MILA Inc.'s U.S. Trustee that the bankruptcy court appoint an avoidance action and litigation support consultant has drawn the ire of the mortgage lender’s unsecured creditors, who contend the court should hire the advisors they suggested last month.

But Seattle bankruptcy judge Samuel Steiner had tersely brushed aside the unsecured creditors committee’s suggestion that it retain Scouler & Co. LLC as its financial advisor.
