Pipeline Co. Hit With Fine Over 4K-Gallon Oil Spill

Law360, New York (July 16, 2012, 6:34 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency on Monday announced an expedited settlement agreement allowing a pipeline operator to pay $5,000 for Clean Water Act violations associated with a 4,200-gallon oil spill in a Texas tributary of the Colorado River.

Houston-based Enterprise Crude Pipeline LLC told the EPA it had investigated the cause of the spill, cleaned up the damage and taken corrective actions to prevent a similar incident in the future, spending more than $420,000 on those activities, according to the settlement.
