Boston Rail Operator Sued For Race Discrimination

Law360 (September 27, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A private company that operates Boston's commuter rail system has been hit with a proposed class action lawsuit alleging that black and Hispanic employees were unfairly denied promotions.

The suit, filed on Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts, accused the Massachusetts Bay Commuter Rail Co. of following a pattern of race discrimination. The complaint also named the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority, a public agency in charge of mass transportation in and around Boston that leased its facilities to the MBCR....
