John Hancock Life, Others Want Out Of $15M Madoff Suit

Law360, New York (July 17, 2012, 7:08 PM EDT) -- MassMutual Financial Group affiliates, John Hancock Life Insurance Co. and an ING Groep NV affiliate all urged a New York state judge Tuesday to dismiss allegations that they're to blame for $15 million investors lost through Bernard Madoff's notorious Ponzi scheme.

The plaintiff, SSR II LLC, accused John Hancock and another insurer, ING affiliate Security Life of Denver Insurance Co., and other defendants of squandering its life insurance policies by pouring money into Madoff feeder funds run by Tremont Group Holdings Inc., another defendant, according to...
