Greenberg To Get 2nd Shot At Avoiding AIG Investor Suit

Law360, New York (July 18, 2012, 1:50 PM EDT) -- A New York state appeals court on Tuesday granted former American International Group Inc. CEO Maurice "Hank" Greenberg permission to appeal a ruling allowing a case to move forward accusing him of costing shareholders billions of dollars by hiding fraudulent reinsurance transactions.

New York’s highest court will decide if a lower court erred in May when it denied Greenberg’s and former AIG Chief Financial Officer Howard Smith’s bid to toss the suit, which alleged they misled investors and regulators about the financial condition of the company...
