Texas DA Can't Escape Bribery Charges

Law360, New York (July 18, 2012, 8:12 PM EDT) -- A Texas federal judge on Wednesday refused to dismiss an indictment against a South Texas district attorney and former congressional candidate who is charged with accepting bribes and kickbacks in return for favorable treatment from prosecutors.

In a hearing Wednesday, U.S. District Judge Andrew S. Hanen denied Cameron County District Attorney Armando Villalobos' motion to dismiss the indictment against him and alleged co-conspirator Eduardo Lucio, an attorney and former law partner of Villalobos.
