Epistar's Prospects Dim In LED Spat

Law360, New York (September 28, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit has denied Epistar Corp.'s plea to continue to stay a U.S. International Trade Commission injunction, seeking to stop the Taiwanese company's importation of light emitting diodes that are believed to infringe on the products of a Royal Philips Electronics unit.

On Friday, the Federal Circuit denied Epistar's bid, rejecting the company's request to extend the injunction's freeze while it pursued an appeal of the earlier decision that favored Philips Lumileds Lighting Company.
