AT&T Retirees Take ERISA Suit To Supreme Court

Law360, New York (July 20, 2012, 4:37 PM EDT) -- A group of retired AT&T Inc. workers have asked the U.S. Supreme Court to give new life to a case alleging that AT&T violated the Employee Retirement Income Security Act by reducing telephone services offered through a retiree reimbursement plan.

In a July 16 petition for writ of certiorari, the group told the high court that a Fifth Circuit decision on their ERISA case against SBC Communications Inc. — which later became AT&T — would improperly allow courts to reconsider previous interlocutory rulings for any reasons...
