French Antitrust Cop Conditionally Approves TV Acquisitions

Law360, New York (July 23, 2012, 4:46 PM EDT) -- France's antitrust watchdog on Monday gave the go-ahead to Vivendi SA subsidiary Canal Plus SA for two takeovers, but attached conditions to both deals aimed at lessening Canal Plus' hold on the French pay-TV market.

The Autorite de la Concurrence reapproved Canal Plus' 2006 acquisition of its former rival Television Par Satellite, or TPS.
