New FLSA Suits Hit Record High In 2012, Report Says

Law360, New York (July 23, 2012, 10:19 PM EDT) -- A record number of federal wage-and-hour lawsuits were filed under the Fair Labor Standards Act in 2012, according to data released by Seyfarth Shaw LLP on Friday, and attorneys say a savvy plaintiffs bar and employee awareness will keep the upward trend going.

A total of 7,064 FLSA cases were filed in the reporting year that ended on March 31, 2012, up from 7,006 new FLSA case filings in the reporting year ending March 31, 2011, the law firm confirmed with the Federal Judicial Center....
