SJG Asks NJ Utilities Board For $250M Upgrade Expansion

Law360, New York (July 24, 2012, 7:20 PM EDT) -- South Jersey Gas on Tuesday petitioned the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities for a 5-year, $250 million expansion of a project it began in 2009 to improve its aging infrastructure.

Under the newly proposed Accelerated Infrastructure Replacement Program, the natural gas utility plans infrastructure upgrades over the next five years that are incremental to the company's normal capital projects scheduled for the same time frame. The expenditures will focus on the replacement, on an accelerated basis, of aging cast iron and bare steel infrastructure....
