NYU Expansion Gets Final Green Light From City Council

Law360, New York (July 25, 2012, 6:48 PM EDT) -- The New York City Council gave final approval Wednesday to New York University's controversial 1.9-million-square-foot Greenwich Village expansion plan among protests from community residents and members of NYU's faculty.

The council voted 44 to 1 adopt the plan approved by the Committee on Land Use last week, over shouts and jeers from protesters in the chambers balcony.
