Florida St. Overcharged HHS By $3M In Grant Costs, IG Says

Law360, New York (July 25, 2012, 8:07 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services improperly reimbursed Florida State University for nearly $3 million in grant expenses during fiscal years 2009 and 2010, the HHS' inspector general said Tuesday in a report that takes the university to task over lax oversight. 

HHS' Office of the Inspector General audited university documents for 100 salary-related transactions charged to HHS under study grants and awards, finding only 53 were allowable, resulting in $590,000 in overcharges, according to the report.
