Asics, Skechers Patch Up Fight Over Stripe Design Mark

Law360, New York (July 25, 2012, 8:15 PM EDT) -- Asics Corp. and Skechers U.S.A. Inc. on Monday settled a trademark suit in California, ending a dispute in which Asics had accused Skechers of trying to piggyback on Asics' reputation as a high-quality footwear company by mimicking its trademarked stripe design.

U.S. District Judge Cormac J. Carney signed off on an order Monday saying the action was dismissed with prejudice, after Asics and Skechers told the court in a July 18 stipulation that they had agreed to drop all the claims and counterclaims at issue....
