Google May See More EU Antitrust Probes Despite Deal

Law360, New York (July 25, 2012, 6:12 PM EDT) -- Google Inc. has made a good enough offer to resolve the European Commission's competition worries to begin hammering out the technical details of a settlement, though the Internet search giant could still face future European Union probes, antitrust chief Joaquin Almunia said Wednesday.

Less than a month after the deadline Almunia set for Google to offer up proposed antitrust fixes, the competition commissioner said that the company had offered "sufficient explanations" in response to the EC's four core objections to Google's search and Web advertising practices...
