Court Tosses Pa. Zoning Law Encouraging Marcellus Drilling

Law360, New York (July 26, 2012, 3:36 PM EDT) -- Seven Pennsylvania towns on Thursday won their bid to overturn a state law designed to encourage gas drilling in the Marcellus Shale, convincing a seven-judge panel that it violates municipalities' right to enforce their own zoning laws.
