Trade War Looms As EU, Chinese Solar Panel Makers Spar

Law360, New York (July 26, 2012, 9:17 PM EDT) -- A group of more than 20 European photovoltaic panel manufacturers on Thursday called on Brussels to investigate alleged illegal dumping of Chinese solar products on the European market, a move that provoked strong backlash from their Chinese counterparts and touched off trade war threats.

Led by Germany's SolarWorld AG, the European solar industry launched a coalition this week called EU ProSun, which recently filed an official trade complaint with the European Commission, according to a statement the group issued Thursday.
