Barclays Faces UK Probe Over Agreement Disclosures

Law360, New York (July 27, 2012, 4:50 PM EDT) -- British authorities are investigating whether Barclays PLC made sufficient disclosures related to certain commercial agreements, the bank said Friday, a month after it agreed to pay $450 million to U.S. and U.K. regulators to settle allegations that it manipulated global interest rates.

The London financial giant disclosed the probe, by the U.K.'s Financial Services Authority, in an annual earnings report that touted big profits and sent its shares rocketing upward both in New York and London.
