Samsung, Motorola Pen Deal To Share Wireless Patents

Law360, New York (July 1, 2005, 12:00 AM EDT) -- South Korean electronics maker Samsung Electronics Co. and U.S. telecommunications gear maker Motorola Inc. have penned a deal to share patents for wireless communication technologies, the companies said on Friday.

Motorola and Samsung, the world's second and third largest mobile phone manufacturers respectively, will share patents in wireless communication-related technologies through the agreement, Samsung said in a brief statement to the Korea Stock Exchange.

Further details about the agreement, including the agreement's duration, were not immediately available.
