Butterball Rolls Out $4M Deal To End Don, Doff Disputes

Law360, New York (July 30, 2012, 9:56 PM EDT) -- Butterball LLC agreed to pay more than $4.2 million Monday to settle class claims brought by workers at Arkansas turkey processing plants who claimed the company didn't compensate them for time spent donning and doffing protective gear.

In a motion for preliminary approval of the settlement, attorneys for plaintiffs in two separate Arkansas federal cases asked the court to approve of Butterball's plan to pay $4.25 million, not including attorneys' fees or costs, to end suits alleging the company violated the Fair Labor Standards Act by...
