KKR To Drop $233M On Share In Comstock Eagle Ford Shale

Law360, New York (July 30, 2012, 10:50 PM EDT) -- Private equity giant KKR & Co. will pay roughly $233 million for a third of the rights to Frisco, Texas-based oil and gas exploration company Comstock Resources’ planned development of the Eagle Ford shale in South Texas, the firms said Monday.

Under the agreement, KKR can participate in a third of Comstock's working interest in wells drilled on its 28,000 net acres at a rate of $25,000 per acre it acquires, according to a statement by Comstock.
