Warburg Puts $55M Into Chinese Children's Clothing Co.

Law360, New York (July 31, 2012, 12:43 PM EDT) -- An affiliate of private equity firm Warburg Pincus LLC has invested $55 million in Chinese children's and maternity retailer China Kidswant Investment Holdings Co. Ltd., the Nanjing-based chain announced Tuesday, just weeks after a Warburg unit bought into a Beijing-based car rental company.

The investment will allow Kidswant, which operates nine stores in southeastern China, to open new outlets and expand its geographical reach, according to a statement from the retailer.
