Ex-Grant Thornton Partners File $13M Contract Suit

Law360, Chicago (August 1, 2012, 7:22 PM EDT) -- Two partners of Grant Thornton International Ltd.'s former Hong Kong unit sued the auditing firm and several executives in Illinois state court Wednesday for $12.5 million, alleging they violated contracts by banishing the Hong Kong entity from the firm's global network and transferring the Chinese platform it set up.

Alan Tang and Alison Wong, who say they are U.K. citizens and still partners with Grant Thornton Hong Kong successor JBPB & Co., allege the defendants required them to invest substantial resources in Grant Thornton Hong Kong...
