Pa. Court Backs Public Release Of Union Grievances

Law360, New York (August 2, 2012, 3:43 PM EDT) -- Grievances filed by independent, unionized contractors working for the public Philadelphia Convention Center Authority are subject to release under Pennsylvania’s Right To Know law, the state’s Commonwealth Court ruled Wednesday.

The ruling overturns a decision by the state’s Office of Open Records, which determined in 2011 that the PCCA did not have to turn over grievances filed by union members under provisions of the RTK law exempting personnel records and complaints from release.
