Troubled Navistar Reveals SEC Accounting Probe

Law360, New York (August 2, 2012, 12:14 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission is investigating accounting issues at Navistar International Corp., the Lisle, Ill.-based company revealed Thursday, raising renewed questions about the engine and truck manufacturer's financial health and sending its stock price down sharply.

Navistar said in an SEC filing that it had received an informal inquiry from the agency’s Chicago office June 21 “seeking a number of categories of documents for the period of Nov. 1, 2010, through the present relating to various accounting and disclosure issues.”
