Judge Unseals Some Data From Guidant MDL

Law360, New York (October 3, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Bloomberg LP, the financial news company that operates Bloomberg News, has gained some access to the summary judgment briefs in connection with the multidistrict litigation against Guidant Corp. over its allegedly faulty implantable heart defibrillators that was settled in July for $195 million.

On Wednesday, Judge Donovan W. Frank granted Bloomberg’s bid to intervene in the case in the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota, where more than 1,400 federal cases that alleged Guidant knew its defibrillators were defective were consolidated.
