Class Wants Chesapeake Excluded From $19M BP Settlement

Law360, New York (August 3, 2012, 9:04 PM EDT) -- Chesapeake Energy Corp. shouldn't be allowed to participate in a $19 million BP America Production Co. settlement over alleged royalty underpayments on natural gas leases, a class of royalty owners told a Kansas federal court Thursday, saying Chesapeake's interests weren't aligned with the rest of the settlement class.
