Dish, Echo Sued Over DVR Management Technology

Law360, New York (August 6, 2012, 4:16 PM EDT) -- Patent-holding company Premier International Associates LLC accused Dish Network Corp. and EchoStar Corp. in Illinois federal court Friday of offering digital video recorders that infringe its recording management technology.

Premier says Dish's set-top boxes like the Whole Home Hopper have a feature that allows television subscribers to find, record and sort a list of shows based on a requested characteristic, which Premier claims is protected by its U.S. Patent Number 6,243,725.
