New Texas Rules May Jump-Start Biodiesel Market

Law360, New York (August 6, 2012, 7:54 PM EDT) -- Texas’s chief environmental agency is set to adopt new rules Aug. 22 for low-emission diesel and biofuels that analysts say will simplify the testing process and open the market for more production.

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality will vote to adopt rule revisions that will allow more blended biodiesels and change the testing process for the low-emission diesel fuel, known as TxLED, that’s used in 110 of the state’s central and eastern counties that have the worst air quality.
