California State Agency Sues City To Block Oil Lease

Law360, Los Angeles (August 8, 2012, 5:42 PM EDT) -- A California state conservation agency on Monday sued the city of Whittier to prevent it from leasing 600 acres of open space on the eastern edge of Los Angeles County for oil drilling, saying the city is violating a proposition intended to maintain natural wilderness.
