Enviros Ask 9th Circ. To Halt $2B Calif. Solar Plant

Law360, New York (August 8, 2012, 5:47 PM EDT) -- Environmental group Western Watersheds Projects urged the Ninth Circuit on Wednesday to block construction of a $2.2 billion solar thermal power plant in the Mojave Desert, saying it threatens hundreds of desert tortoises and could kill an estimated 3,300 birds every year, according to a study.
