M*Modal Settles Shareholder Dispute Over $1B Buyout

Law360, New York (August 8, 2012, 9:19 PM EDT) -- M*Modal Inc. on Wednesday announced it had extended the deadline for the $1.1 billion takeover by JPMorgan Chase & Co.'s private equity arm as part of a settlement to end putative class actions aimed at the medical transcription company's directors.

M*Modal said investment arm One Equity Partners LLC had extended the expiration of its tender offer to buy all of M*Modal's outstanding shares of common stock for $14 per share from Aug. 13 to Aug. 14. The memorandum of understanding between the two resolves investor claims...
