Plaintiffs, Murphy Set Facts Straight About Fire

Law360, New York (October 9, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Murphy Oil USA Inc., Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. and the plaintiffs who hope to hold the two companies liable for a fire that broke out at an oil refinery have filed a joint stipulation detailing the facts on which they all agree.

Murphy and Liberty have been targeted in an array of personal injury lawsuits since the oil company's petroleum refinery in Meraux, La., burst into flames on June 10, 2003. Murphy has already settled with 680 people who filed claims over the fire, the company...
