Goodyear Off Hook For $70M In Blimp Factory Pollution Costs

Law360, New York (August 15, 2012, 6:26 PM EDT) -- An Ohio federal judge Wednesday ruled that Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. is not responsible for more than $70 million in pollution remediation costs at the site of one of its former zeppelin factories, finding that Lockheed Martin Corp. assumed liability when it bought the site.

U.S. District Judge David D. Dowd Jr. found that Lockheed, which sued under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act, could not recoup the nearly $73 million it said it has spent or will spend remediating the airdock site...
